next day CP to move - went to rear (aid
station) with message center - waited
all aft. 12 jeeps took us to town - Stolberg - new bn
CP - night - dark - prepared to spend night
in cellar - many rooms - ate hot meal
- maccaroni and cheese - delicious - mess
sgt. came with rations for C Co.
Went with him to join Co. - lead
jeep to river - broken bridge
waited for carrying party - couldn't bring
coffee up - carrying party drank what
they wanted. carried K rations across
river on foot bridge to grave yard
where Co. was dug in. CP in cellar of
old gas station house - had no equipment
- stayed in CP over night - found out
about the ordeal of the last couple of
days.  Nelan killed, Carrol wounded,
Noble wounded, Turk killed, others
wounded. Stayed in CP next day
hung around listening to Capt. Barker &
Col. discuss attack on hill. Capt.
thought it suicide & wanted to
wait until planned artillery
barrage could be laid in & attack
next morn with 2 companies
higher ups insisted - tank comm.
wandered in - used him
