Apr. 18 Planes over early today
hovering in the sky like
buzzards searching for rotten Jerry
carcas.  Planes to be seen in
all directions. straffing in pairs
& fours till sunset. Bombers
shook barracks today. POW
laid out in white on compound
- barbed wire torn off windows.
Wooden rain pipes town down
for fuel
Apr. 19 Hundreds of bombers today,
kept up continuous rumble
& shook the ground & rattled the
windows.  Sky full of planes
- fighters & bombers to be seen in
all directions - 8 B47's straffed train
within a 1000 yds of camp setting it a flame
-explosions taking place for hours afternoon
some shaking the barracks considerably
- nothing is safe from our planes in
Germany - no Jerries to oppose them
& very uneffective ack ack
Apr 20 - Slack in air activity continues
to last few days.  Artillery rumble heard.
Lt. Joseph given choice of moving to the
side of Elbe as Russians are 50 km
from here.  Decided to stay - all other
nationals agreed to stay except
Poles (who moved out during night)
