dejected because of all the
let-downs. Civilians have been
crowding along the roads
moving north - artillery fire
distinct - Jerry equipment
moving by all day.
Apr. 23 Jerrys left camp
last midnight - 7:15 AM
Three Russian horsemen
trotted thru the camp gates
What a reception they were
given. All nationals were
cheering & clapping their
hands as the rugged horsemen
with automatic weapons
slung over their shoulders
and a bewildered look on
their faces went down the
main street. Everyone dancing
about & shouting - shaking
hands & slapping each other
on the back - We had wondered
how this event would take place
- wondered if there would be
fighting in the area or not
