- the riding in of the Russian horseman. Lots of fellows were coming back from neighboring farms with flour, sugar & various other things. Norm & I decided to try our luck, but when we got to the near by houses they had all been ransacked of everything useful. A Russian tractor pulling a field gun & a truck was going by & we jumped on the running board & rode into town with them. The Russians had only occupied the town recently & there was still small army fire & shelling to be heard on the other side. Before we decided it was unhealthy |
