May 8 Walked around town for
radio - no success - visited Ellen
& walked all over town with her & her
friends. Came back to room tired &
disgusted.  Fixed big meal
Fellow brought radio in our
room since we have arial & ground
wire.  Wonderful to hear radio again.
Had large group in. opened bottle
of whisky. Charlie made 2 pies
& a cake with our preserves &
flour - fooled around till 2 a.m.
May 9 Victory meal this
noon. Norm & I made big meal
for us & Charlie Kline & Smith.
Set table with dishes, napkins
etc. - meat, browned potatoes,
green beans, peas, bread, cheese,
jam, coffee, cherry pie
May 10 Went swimming in pool
large amt of fellows taking
off.
May 11 Brought our extra food
to the Jewish refugees who
